Honeywell alarm system basic user guide

User code + "1" is used to turn "off" or disarm the system. It is also used to acknowledge or clear any other system faults

User code + "2" is for the AWAY mode, gives you time to exit and enter, activates all interior motion detectors

User code + "3" is for the STAY mode, gives you time to exit and to enter, automatically bypasses interior motion detectors but keeps wired doors and windows secure

User code + "4" is for MAX setting, gives you exit time, absolutely no entry time of an outside door and activates all motion detectors. Alarm will immediately sound if anybody would open an outside perimeter door or violate a motion detector. They should not be expecting anybody to come in that night. They have to remember to disarm before going downstairs.

User code + "7" is for INSTANT setting, gives you exit time, absolutely no entry time of an outside door and automatically bypasses all motion detectors. Alarm will immediately sound if anybody would open an outside perimeter door but would allow them to move around the interior of the building



	Backup systems. A typical monitored home security system offers a 24-hour backup component that kicks in should your phone lines get cut by a potential intruder. A radio or cellular backup system will send a signal to the central monitoring station that the phone line was dropped thus ensuring that the alarm signal gets to the proper authorities

	While most American homes have items of value to thieves, only about 30% of all private homes have a security system. Most customers call for systems after they've been burglarized.
